    TYM,

It is crazy isn't it! I have noticed M.I.A and Harasan driving up the proced on the Japanese players items. The Kazuo Matsui TBTC 6/21/2008 (Astros vs. Rays) jerseys went for nearly $3,000. That is a lot for Kaz one day jersey.

I wish I could get a hold of them as I have some items they might like!

i think this has to do with the high demand of japanese players equipment in japan. there are some serious collectors in japan. i would not be surprised that the best items go back to japan. thats where the demand is and thats where you get the best prices for items owned by matsui, ichiro, fukedome, dicek, etc.

      any guu members from japan?

not only does their stuff sell for stupid money, so does the american players. i don't see how any modern players' equiptment sells for so much. imo, that stuff is just worth a couple hundred.
common player unis for $500? come on. more than half of these today players aren't going to have big careers, let alone make a chance at the hall. that stuff selling for so high, all that does is keep collectors like me away, who doesn't have a large wallet!
some of these guys are good, but come on; 3-4K for a pujols bat or jersey, 5-6K for an arod bat, etc, and they aren't even done playing. i would spend that much on hofers stuff.

A few years back, a Japanese baseball specialist who lived in Japan said the Japanese teams generally don't release to the public game used jerseys, etc. This could explain the excitement for Japanese with MLB auctions Japanese player game used.

I also asked him why the Japanese jerseys have the team names in English. He said because the Japanese think it looks cool.
