Sheffield Jersey

I saw a Sheffield Yankee jersey I really like, but had a few questions you guys might be able to answer. He has a MEARS certificate A10 and a COA letter from Steiner. Should the jersey have an affixed hologram on it that matches Steiner or MEARS COA's ? I think the COA's are great, but why wouldn't the jersey have a matching hologram. I've never delt with anything form MEARS or Steiner so I don't know how they issue matching holograms or if they even do.

Hey Bill,

The jersey should at least have a Steiner hologram on the tagging. Steiner has always put a hologram on the letter and on the jersey. Recently, they started using holograms with matching numbers to try to fight fraud. Not sure if MEARS puts holograms on every item they autenticate, but I know they have a photo of the item on the LOA which you can match the jersey to the LOA. As far as holograms go, I HATE them. You now see items with 3 or more holograms (Steiner, MLB, the players own holgram, authenticator). Its getting out of hand!
