Re: Heritage Auctions Dale Murphy
the nameplate itself appears noticeably darker than the rest of the jersey, indicating it was possibly added after the jersey had already had gone through a good amount of use (fading).

Re: Heritage Auctions Dale Murphy
The picture of Gary Mathews (#36, Spring Training) has an space on the bottom half of three, same as the picture of Dale Murphy in the March 1984 issue of Baseball Digest.
But, if you look at the June 1984 issue of Sport Magazine, there is no space (the threads are touching). Same as the jersey in question.
So maybe the Braves Spring Training jerseys had a slightly different style font of numbers (three) than their regular season jerseys????
I think most likely the Braves just had two variations of number fonts after looking at more pictures....Leave a comment:

Here's another example of a 79 road from AM. The NOB on both jerseys doesn't match perfectly, but I'm not saying either is good or bad. A nice picture from that season would certainly help.

That NOB certainly isn't originalLeave a comment:

Re: Heritage Auctions Dale Murphy
Mastro auctioned a Garry Matthews jersey in 2001 that is identical to the Murphy jersey. The Wilson tag and the 79 tag look good. Mastro didn't have a picture of the back so I can't comment on the name plate, but the Matthews jersey did have a name plate also.Leave a comment:

Heritage Auctions Dale Murphy
I am looking for a Game Used Murph jersey (preferably from 1985 but this one is nice too) Lampson LOA means I have no idea if it's real or not. I am wondering in anyone here has pictures from 1979 or a great amount of knowledge about 1979 Atlanta Braves Gray jerseys. My questions include:
I am really suspect of the Murphy name plate and font. It just seems wrong. Is it?
Is the "79" tag correct?
Are there any other red flags here?
Thanks guys!Tags: None
