A collector sent me this link a few weeks ago and asked what I thought of these shoes. I've seen pics of Erving wearing this style of Converse while with the Squires...but I've only seen him in the hightop version. I don't recall ever seeing a game action photo of Erving in lowcuts, but I've obviously not seen photos of every pro game he played in.
I would think that 60s & 70s hoops shoes would be difficult to authenticate, seeing so many players wore the same brand and style, with seemingly no unique features other than size. In the late 70s Converse added the DRJ stamp to Erving's shoes. I've also seen shoes from other players from this era with personalized stamps on their Converse.
