Re: 2 Game Used David Wright bats on ebay museumbats

I posted pictures to compare and stop making accusations that I accused him of doctoring the bat.Where did I mention ball marks Get your facts straight before throwing accusations.I requested the documentation on Grey flannels findings from him.I also got the opinion of 2 Mets collectors whose opinion I value very highly. The bat compared to the other 2 has no use at all.Does that mean he did not use it no..I have seen a ton of Wright bats and the ones with little use have been cracked or broken..Also there is a big difference between a Game Used bat and a Game Ready bat..

I talked with museumbats, and he told me that he thought he represented the bat honestly. He didn't say there were ball marks on it, or anything like that. You have to understand that there was pine tar and mota stick on the bat, so it was more than just game-issued. Maybe it should have been called game-ready, but he did NOT doctor the bat. He got it from a Grey Flannel lot, and that was how it came. He did NOT take it to the cages and hit the ball around with it. I have worked with museumbats before, and I can state that I feel 100% trust working with the guy. And this is in a hobby where all too often I can't trust people. So - if you don't want this bat, I understand. But I would be loath to throw out accusations before you know the facts and the history of the bat.

so he certainly is a forum member

    thanks,

Doesn't mean he is a member. I have dealt with him before, so I sent him this thread, asking for his comment. He is only aware of this thread, because I sent it to him! He has told me specifically that he is not a member here, and that he hasn't regularly read GUU for quite some time now.

I know that he is not a forum member. I haven't heard back from him yet, but I'll let you know what he says.

I just wrote him, and I made sure to address your questions. I'll let you know what he says. Sorry that you feel the bat is misrepresented; if you are that uncomfortable with it, I'd recommend staying away. But I'll make sure that we get to the botttom of this, so that collectors everywhere will feel comfortable bidding on his items.

    I'm sorry,

I thought I mentioned that in my second post. After I found it on Grey Flannell again, I noticed that it ended for $1,100. I have nothing against people making money on items. What's wrong with buying cheap and selling high? That's business.

The Wright looks to be game issued.

I talked with the seller, and he told me that he actually paid over $1100 for the Grey Flannel lot. So - he's not getting back as much in return as you claim. He says that he did not buy the lot to make a quick buck, but rather because he wanted the Piazza and Glavine bats. He then decided to sell all the rest.

His bats are readily available and the Mets are asking $1500 for a cracked and uncracked.Locker Room has not had any available for quite sometime. At least when Steiner was selling the bats a broken bat ran between $300-$500..I had 5 but due to my wifes health issues and medical bills I was forced to sell them.I had a log in a notebook in 2007 he broke about 35 bats going into August and broke 3 bats in one game that was the Marruchi.I would like a Louisville Slugger or Rawlings he used them his rookie season. But to me a $1500 price tag is way to steep..

That was my guess and the fact that he has not responded to my questions and doubts about the lack of use.Locker Room Memorabilia had 2 on there site that were sold but the pictures remained and the 2 bats were hammered. Thanks for the input
