    2004 GFC Steve Smith

Couple of things about the Grey Flannel 2004 Game Used Steve Smith jersey that caught my eye.

First, Steve Smith played 1 game in 2004 where he got hurt and sat out the rest of the season. The Panthers didn't wear that style jersey in that game

Second, the Panthers wore a 10th anniversary patch that season.

It is not on the Smith jersey and the auction lists "no alterations of any kind"
It's possible that it's the real thing, but it likely didn't see the field in '04.

Not sure if he changed sizes or customizations during his career, but in 2007, Steve Smith wore a size 38
Here's one that came straight from the NFL

      I am 99.9999% certain the Steve Smith wears...or did wear....a 38.
ALWAYS buying PHOTO MATCHED Marcus Allen and Anfernee Hardaway jerseys. Also always buying Tennessee Volunteer jerseys and anything Tony Delk.

the sleeve customization on the GF jersey is completely different than the one through the NFL

once again, it shows that zero reasearch was done in the authentication...if there was even 1 minute spent, wouldn't they have tried to say that it was worn in a different season or something?

wrong size, wrong year, wrong customizations...looks like another one that slipped through the cracks

          More on the sleeves.

Here is the sleeve customization Steve Smith has used throughout his career

Below is a shot of the length. There have ben photos which suggest a customized length, but here is a shot from 2006 which shows he left it long

Not even CLOSE to matching true Smith jerseys. IMHO the economy has made the auction houses even worse than usual in accepting and trying to push out garbage.

Don't recall so many bad items in one single auction as this GF one.

Richard Russek is to the sports memorabilia auction hobby what Bernanrd Madoff was to the investment arena.....nothing but out for raking in bucks for himself as he lies his way to a huge fortune.

              Shameful.

One was caught. Wonder if the other one will ever have his feet held to the fire?

The Basketball Hall of Fame obviously has no clue who they have a relationship with. My prediction is, some day......it will end badly.

Howard, thanks, nope, never have seen that before.

I think it's obvious to all what's going on at Grey Flannel.

One day that man should be placed behind bars. Once again, it's so easy to connect the dots....and then you read this (above, posted by Rudy originally) and you just shake your head from the confirmation.

                    suave1477......are you catching all this???

Howard....one last thought on that "People's Court" issue......

You know WHY the parties who go on those shows agree to do it?

Because all the monies found to be owed, for the fees, the judgements, etc., are paid for by the show. Both parties have to agree to appear, or it doesn't happen.

It speaks volumns about ol' Richard that he would display the reputation of his company on National T.V. and risk losing, which he was sure to do from the start, just so he could get out of refunding something equivalent to under $3,000. He gets lambasted by the judge, Grey Flannel takes yet ANOTHER major hit to it's rep, and he walks out feeling like he's been victorious because he didn't pay the tab. The dude is lost. He doesn't get it. Yet, he still holds these auctions loaded with garbage, and people buy it?

                      Filthy.

after reading the "peoples court" thread, the part that caught my attentin the most is the last statement from the interviewer

"You didn't even try"....sounds like a ot of the threads we've ben seeing lately

Obviously they didn't learn anything from the People's Court adventure, and couldn't care less what kind of trash they put in the market
