Schubert-wasn't me-though I wish it was. I got a couple of nice Rose bats, but I need to add a jersey and helmet sometime soon too. Enjoy that historic piece.Leave a comment:

Re: Official waiting out the end of Lelands thread
Just a few years ago, all the big auctions used to end way early. I remember a Mastro auction I had a bid in. I went to bed when it was starting to get light outside-- and I live on the West Coast!!! I bet some auctions would end at 7 am PST!Leave a comment:

Greg, I thought of you when bidding. Someone was bidding me up on this and I thought it might have been you. I know you've got a good eye for the Rose stuff. Save some for the rest of us.

Re: Official waiting out the end of Lelands thread
I won the Pete Rose 1978 Tour of Japan Uniform. I came close to not bidding on this because I wasn’t sure about the jersey tag.
The COA comes from Sports Investments Inc. These are the same people I bought the Rose gambling check from. The really are authorities when it comes to anything Reds. I gave them a call and they gave me some great background information about the jersey and they also let me know they didn't consign this uniform to Lelands. If you ever need to know anything about Reds memorabilia call these guys. I spoke with Adam Wolter and he's a wealth of information. Their father bought the ball and bat from Rose that broke Cobb's record and various other unique items.
Also, I was searching the forum because I wanted to learn more about the tagging issues with the Reds jerseys. Below was a extremely helpful post from Rudy a few years ago. THANK YOU RUDY!!!!! After reading the post below I finally made up my mind to bid on this lot.
Although it's not a MLB game used, it's has to be one of the most unique Rose jersey's.
I've also attached a few more pics from some 1978 programs I purchased about the tour. Who knows, might even be able to photo match this thing.
Can anyone post a famous pic of Oh and some of the Reds players from one of the exhibition games?

Cincinnati Reds Uniforms from the 1980s
December 11 2007 at 2:37 PMDave Grob
In response to an e-mail question about Cincinnati Reds uniforms from the 1980s, I offered this response.
"The Reds continued wearing Wilson road uniforms, something that began in 1968, throughout the decade of the 1980s. The only exception to this are the road uniforms worn in 1978 during the Tour of Japan. These were made by Rawlings as Rawlings was a sponsor of the tour. These road Tour of Japan uniforms feature a “R” on the exterior of the pants as well.
The home uniforms during the 1980s were manufactured by Rawlings, with the exception of 1985 and 1986. The 1985 and 1986 home uniforms were supplied by Goodman and Sons, and unlike their Wilson and Rawlings counterparts, are without any year or set identification. The Reds began wearing Rawlings uniforms in 1968, switching away from long time supplier MacGregor."

I won the lot of 3 1926 50th anniversary old judge posters. The best thing about them was that acouple years ago i owned the 3 because i found them at a local auction, so i consigned them to Mastro's where they went for 4 times what i paid for them this time, plus the owner had them framed.Leave a comment:

Did anybody on here try to get that 1925 Pottsville Maroons NFL Championship Ring, but got outbid? http://lelands.com/bid.aspx?auctionid=905&lot=250 If so, I can get you one for a little bit less than what that one just sold for.
I'm not trying to hi-jack the thread, so email me if you're interested. bharasymczuk@gmail.com
Thanks!

Re: Official waiting out the end of Lelands thread
They need to find new or tweak their existing software so it allows them to close auctions for each item when there has not bin bidding for ten minutes. The current process is absurd. And yes, I am sitting here waiting on my bids.Leave a comment:
