Chipper Jones GU Helmet on ebay, legit?

I'm new to game used collecting and I need an opinion on this batting helmet before I bid on it. It is an ABC helmet, the date wheel says may of 1997. The seller says he got it from a Kid who's dad works for TBS and got it from Bobby Cox in early season 1997. Here are my issues: I have never seen a helmet with the #10 on the left of the abc and mlb sticker, always on top or to the right in all the pictures I can find of chipper. The helmet does not show much wear and the seller has no paperwork to prove it's legitamacy. Any opinions? I have no idea what to look for in GU helmets. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!!! -Trey

Hey Trey,
Stay far (far far far) away from anything that guy sells. That helmet is a joke, which is why no one touched it when it was a BIN for $500, $400, $300 and now $199. I don't think he's ever sold a legit thing in his life.

Not only is the rear number placement a joke, you can see where on the inside where someone had tried to peel off the size sticker.

If you have the money to spend contact Lisa Wessigner of the Braves, she handles their game used stuff alot of it is pricey but at least you know its real or contact Rick Radtke @ Radtke Sports he has alot Chipper stuff that is legit.

My question is why does he take pics with that stupid manequin head. Does having the hat/helmet on a creepy head make it sell higher?
