Many of you know that I am a Steve Carlton collector (in fact, I'd like to thank several of you who email me when you see that Lefty's items become available). There is currently a Lefty bat on eBay:
I am confused about this bat (yes, I have contacted and interacted with the seller several times). The seller told me that Carlton was the last person to use the bat. His 32 is in red on the barrel end, but the knob is blacked out. Does anyone know why the knob would be blacked out if Lefty was the last one to use his own bat? I am truly curious about this and not trying to say anything bad about the bat. The seller does not know the answer (which is understandable).
