On May 25th, 1997 the Twins presented Kirby with this Corvette as appreciation for his historic career with the Minnesota Twins. The Minnesota Twins retired Kirby Pucket's number that day. As the story goes, Kirby was supposed to drive this car around the dome and wave to the crowd, but there was one small problem; Kirby didn't know how to drive a manual transmission. So, Al Newman got into the drivers seat and drove Puckett around the stadium. Later, Kirby was given 2 hours of instruction on how to drive a 4 speed, but never could get the hang of it. Kirby decided to make it an automatic transmission which is currently installed in the car.Regards,
