The item referred to above is a photo of Hank Aaron celebrating after he hit his then-record setting 715th home run in Atlanta 4/8/74. (Photo post or link would be most appreciated).
The jersey he wears in the photo (same day as the home run) has a couple of noticeable oddities:
First off, the front 4's don"t match...one has a noticeably thicker blue portion than does the other.
Second, Aaron's jersey has a round collar...not what was used on the 1974 Braves jersey (made by Wilson) but what WAS used on 1972 Sand-Knit gamers.
Is it possible that Hank Aaron made history in a font-mismatched, 2-year-old jersey?
Once someone can post the photo, I'd enjoy hearing your thoughts.
