Mattingly Game Used Bat on eBay

What are your thoughts on this bat? From the people I've spoken with, its suspiscious and too cheap to be true.

I can't analyze the bat fully from photos, but the seller is right on one thing...Mattingly, once he became popular, did use retired Yankees jersey numbers on his bats to try and foil clubhouse thieves. Withthe light foil stamping, might this be a 1985 bat insead of an '84?

We Have The Bat Priced Where We Felt It Would Sell. We Watched Several Not Sell For Higher Prices. We Will Glady Answer Any Questions About The Bat. And Would Like To Here Any Thoughts On The Bat.

It's extremely rare to find a legitimate Mattingly bat especially from early in his career for less than $1500, and even that is not easy...

I would agree. We just followed several of them for sale for several months . None sold for $1500. Im sure at one time they sold for that or more.
