Dave - don't you think it's time to sell me that Zisk jersey?
I did see a couple last year that had brand new tags and showed no use at all

I agree, it looks as though Griffey wore a Double Knit in his debut with the Sox. The other pics clearly show a Cool base. JustinWC80 does your Griffey have the added length tags on it? Still curious to why its not on the VA one?

By the way guys I just started collecting White Sox jerseys this past year. Im a owner of 3 jerseys at the moment.Definitley looking to add to my collection. If anybody has any extra inventory or debating just to part ways with one, Please let me know. Thanks! Joe C. Jfc60623@yahoo.com

From what the Sox folks were able to tell and from my picture research it appeared he used only one away jersey all year and I believe the same for the home jersey. Most that I've seen that show any use show alot so be careful of any that don't.
Their clubhouse guys need to see the pictures from Aug 1 & 2, 2008. He is clearly wearing a double knit jersey.

Also search my previous posts, Kyle Hess posted some high res photos of him in his away jersey. This jersey had some matchable threads and wear. From my research this was the only one he wore from the pics I found.

I did not mean to imply that was the actual jersey, I was just pointing to the fact that it is inaccurate to state that Griffey only wore cool base jerseys.

Re: White Sox Griffey Jr. Jersey

If I remember right, Griffey's first game with the Sox was in Kansas City. Theoretically, I could see him wearing a non-Cool Base road jersey without standard tagging before the Sox had time to order/make him jerseys that are more customized. Plenty of pics exist of him in his first game so a photo comparison should be fairly easy.

I vaguely remember now being told when I bought my Griffey Cool Base home white Set 1 jersey at Soxfest that Jerry Reinsdorf has one of Griffey's game-used jerseys. I want to say that I was also told that it was a home white, but that would probably mean that Reinsdorf received one that wasn't game-used since it's sounding more and more like the Set 1 I bought is the only home white he wore. That could make sense. I could easily see a Sox employee not knowing the difference and giving Reinsdorf a non-game-used one, even if it was a grey or black one. It's not like Reinsdorf would probably know the difference either.

I doubt Griffey wore anything but Cool Base jerseys while with the Sox. Most of the Getty photos show him in Cool Base. Forum member justinwc80 actually made contact with the Sox clubhouse manager who stated Griffey only wore Cool Base.

Missing the correct tagging would be a huge turn off for me.
I know some of the other Sox collectors handled the Griffey jerseys last year at Soxfest and they might know a little more then me.
