Unlikely a big club roster player would wear a number that high. Looking at the writing on the inside, my guess would be Jared Martin, who was with the Iowa Cubs in the early 1980's.

Undoubtedly minor league, at best. The Cubs helmets have always used the same rounded C as the game caps since 1957. The MLB Cubs have never used the logo crest on game helmets.

1979 would be the first season that helmet could have been used. That is when the Cubs made the outer blue ring on their logo as thick as it is today.

I agree with everyone else most likely an Iowa Cubs helmet. Not a MLB helmet.
