2005 Konerko Jersey

I am looking for some advise from the experts here. I'm interested in this Konerko jersey I saw listed on ebay ( ebay# 230629895064), but have a couple questions about it. Does the strip tag look correct for this particular year? And since this is a set 1, dont you think the wash tag would look alittle bit more worn. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

At first glance that tag looks bogus compared to other 2005 strip tags. Not only that but the tag should read 05 48 S1 not 48 05 S1. Since 2001 it has always been the year first to my knowledge.

I actually thought Konerko traveled back to 1948 and wore number 05 .
Maybe another team uses that sequence of numbers on their tags, but the Sox don't. It's too bad since the extra length tag is on my Konerko jersey also.

I appreciate the advise. I don't have any 05 Sox jerseys to compare with, so it is hard to say whether it was correct or not but I agree with you about the number sequence, but also, that wash tag sure seems like it should look more worn since it's a set 1. I saw on ebay not too long ago there was a guy selling just the strip tags off of other jerseys. This was the first thing to pop in my head when I looked at it was that this maybe one of those tags from that seller.

Thanks guys, you convinced me to stay clear of this one. Sure would be nice to own a real 05 Konerko.
