Question about a Maddux 95 jersey on ebay

I will be honest, I'm still very green to this side of the hobby, but I am slowly coming around. I do believe the seller of this auction I have a question about is a member here. I'm just looking for guidance

The tagging matches up to a russell athletic tag from the early 90s (design change in 93) but the sleeve patch is from 95. Was this common for teams to reuse jerseys or did someone slap the 95 patch on after the fact? (Please note I am not calling any one out, I just am wondering before I put a bid in)

I would have no worries about this item, Stephen. Russell tag carryovers aren't that unusual...I've seen the 1992 design on jerseys issued as late as 1997. Tag designs can be carried over....you just can't have a design on a jersey purported to be from prior to its introduction.

All facets of the jersey look good from the photos...proper NOB font, proper size for the era, etc.

Finally, even with the 1992 style tag, the jersey couldn't be from '92, as Wilson made the road greys for the Braves that season. Russell didn't begin supplying the road style to Atlanta until 1993.

As you surmised, the seller IS a GUU member, and is very reliable and accurate.
