Warren, i well remember that game ! Was really a big event in Italy to see the NBA palyers (Moses Malone - Doc J - Sugar Ray Richardson -John Williamson - Jeff Huston ....)

GFC has always done well with Dr. J. jerseys. They've had multiple Erving jerseys that went between $100-200K.

People went a little crazy in the SCP auction. Over $15K for some obscure plaque? I guess they wanted something (anything) from his collection.

GFC has always done well with Dr. J. jerseys. They've had multiple Erving jerseys that went between $100-200K.

The prices for some stuff were ridiculous. Overall it helped the value of all vintage basketball stuff.
How did the Pittsburgh Pythons uniform sell for 6,200 and this jewel only get 3,800 ?

Lot #25 & #26 – 1985 & 1986 AS rings. Why would the 1986 ring fetch twice as much as the 1985 ring? The 1986 AS game was in Dallas, not LA.

Lot #31 – game worn warm-up pants. These look to be retail pants, not game worn warm-ups. No snaps or proper tagging. Compare to lot #48. Could buy these type of pants for $60 in the NBA catalog (80s)

If they had this photo and an accurate description, this lot no doubt would have got 10 grand.

All the items listed above were from his personal collection. There were a couple Erving related items in the auction that were not from his collection, but the vast majority was. A little over 100 lots.
