In addition to the suspicious batting cage like ball marks all the ball marks are on the left side of the label which is usually typical for a right handed batter.

According to Vince Malta's guide, Stargell only ordered 34" K44 once in 1980 and it was Hickory finish. He ordered 34.5 and 36" K44 in 1977.

According to Mears auction listing it matches factory records from 1977.

Either way I'm staying away from this one...

Because of the way that they cover the LOO, I am guessing that it's an index bat.

That bat sold at MEARS' own auction ending 10/2/11. It had those "dimpled" marks at the time. It sold for $ 342.

I asked the seller for a scan of the LOA. Something is being hidden here, there are plenty enough "ball marks" for this bat to earn higher than a 5.

Willie Stargell Game Used Bat eBay

Is it just me or do the ball marks on this Stargell game used bat look odd? They look like ball marks that come from those dimpled rubber balls used at batting cages.

Working...
