Any one see the reggie jersey in the current mile high auction? interesting story behind it. i always thought he wore number 9. Wonder if it will go past the price of the 68 that Mears just sold.

The 67 Shirt is in Greyflannel. Long and the short of it is, Reggie wore both number 31 and 9 during 1967. His first jersey was number 31 worn from his initial call up 9 June 67- 2 July 67. He was then sent back to the minors and picked up number 9 during his second call up: mid September through the end of the season. Attached photo was taken during his first three games with KC, The .pdf of the score card is from KC's game with the Angels 25 June 67 and shows Reggie listed as number 31 in both scored and printed roster. For laughs, check out the bottom right hand corner of the card...hard to imagine seeing an advert for an adult theater in today's family friendly baseball!
Who knows where it will go, but how many times do you see the rookie shirt of a Hall of Famer/500 HR club member?
