    '96 Dodgers Road Jersey

    The tagging on this jersey seems a little sparse. Am I just being crazy?

    Seller's feedback is all positive, but only 73 and all his other recent sales are random things (ipods, coins, etc). I sent him a message and said he's selling it for a friend who was a former equipment manager.

      Looks like Rawlings tagging from 1992-94, past that I'm not as well versed as others here. I'm sure someone will be able to help you out though.

          The Dodgers used Rawlings exclusively from 1987-94, before switching to Russell. This would likely be a 1992-94 jersey.

              I checked some more records, and a red flag has come up. In the regular season, the Dodgers wore at least 1 sleeve patch in each of the years from 1992-94.

              1992: Dodgers anniversary patch (not sure which one)
              1993: Tim Crews memoriam patch (Drysdale/Campanella patch added later in season).
              1994: MLB 125th Anniversary patch.

              The sleeves don't show any patches, but the view of them is limited. Also, in that time frame, there should be no Rawlings sleeve logo on a MLB jersey, as they did not have the official contract in those three years.

              Who is the player and what does the back look like? Right now, it appears to be either a spring training jersey or a minor league top, but more information would clarify things.

                          It's definitely NOT a 1996 jersey based on manufacturer, as Russell supplied the Dodgers in 1996. Wallach was signed by the Dodgers in the 1992-93 offseason, so my belief is that it's a 1993 spring training jersey. There were no patches on either sleeve as Tim Crews (52) did not pass away until after spring training started. Good jersey, but limited to Grapefruit League use.
