SCP auctions John Kruk Phils helmet: red flags

A longtime collector, dealer and expert on Phillies GU items asked me to share the red flags he saw on Lot 933 in the current SCP Auctions event.

Shown are photos of the back of Kruk's helmet (Getty image of a game) and the back of the questioned helmet.

The Phillies never used a piece o sticky paper with typed on name and number in that era, this out of dozens of helmets from that time frame that my associate has.

Also, the helmet is listed as size 7 1/2. All of Howard's Kruk helmets are 7 1/4.

SCP was contacted about this by Howard Wolf, and made no move to pull the item.

In short, don't put too much stock on this one.

Bump to the top. Howard Wolf sent me the attached photo of this 1994 Pete Incaviglia helmet he has in his collection. This is what the back of a 1994 Phillies helmet should look like. Hopefully SCP reconsiders Howard's very detailed feedback, some of which Dave touched on earlier, on why this helmet is not what it appears to be and pulls it from their upcoming auction.
