Marcus Allen Game Used in Paragon Auctions

Any thoughts on this? I know Marcus and just called him moments ago and sent him the link. I am looking forward to his opinion on the authenticity.

Yep....I checked Getty for the entire 1992 season....it was all Starter. Further, the date code means the jersey was manufactured in 1992... Making it impossible it was worn by Marcus. Once again, too good to be true.

It's funny or sad (depending how you look at it) how a couple of guys on a message board can figure it out in a couple minutes but an auction company by the looks of it didn't bother to do much if any research except fluff up the jersey with meaningless info.

I agree. I was hoping that it was a 1991 jersey that was simply thought to be a 92....but the date code, unless I'm mistaken, eliminates that possibility.

So it cannot be a 1991 and in 1993 he played for KC.

That's about the size of it. If....IF....it's bogus, someone spent a hell of a lot of time faking that wear and all 12 of those team repairs.

It cannot be this one because it is a size 44.

Amazing how many of these "game used" Wilson jerseys are out there. This one was made in 1993.

Did the auction get pulled? The link just goes to the auction catalog.

Theres a 91 game issued Allen on Ebay and it looks like he wore Wilson that year, according to some Getty images.

I am the customer who consigned this jersey to Paragon Auctions and I am sort of confused about all of this photo matching. I tried to look up some images of this jersey myself and came up with a few Getty Images from the pre season and they are wearing Wilson from this year. Also I saw that not every one was wearing Starter during the same regular season because there is not a logo on the sleeves, but due to the length of the sleeve I believe it to be Wilson. Here are the images I am talking about from Getty 51549657, 287122, 98281714, 161607783,294355 if some one can please educate me on this as I am not sure of all of this. This happens to be a very good auction for game used football items and it seems no one is talking about all of the great items in this auction but just focused on this jersey here. I would like to hear back from the gentleman that knows Marcus to see what he had to say. Thanks
