Interesting lot, even if it is all authentic these are not worth anything near what the asking price is.

I think those items have been on eBay, since 1988.Comment

John is a good legit guy. I have bought several pieces from him before Via ebay and personally. He has a lot of Jose stuff. He was more than willing to accept offers on a few items. I was very happy with my purchases.Comment

The main purpose of this listing seems to be directing individuals to the seller's other items. I was pretty sure that was against eBay rules.
I find it funny that he says to own it before an auction house does. Someone who has done business with him in the past should recommend that he send it to Goldin. I'm not sure even Ken could get that much for that stuff.Comment

Why anyone would collect known cheaters is beyond me.
Think if you are a father. "Son, here is my so and so collection." "He was caught cheating but I look up to him." "Now lets work on making you a valuable member of society with my morals."Comment

Roady if that was the case there wouldn't be many people to collect. I know you are talking about steroids but Babe Ruth "cheated on his wife" which is not looked down on compared to steroids for some odd reason. Gaylord Perry and Don Sutton doctored baseballs and "Cheated" in that way. It's funny how people turn a blind eye at a guy who abuses cocaine, but God forbid they do steroids.Comment

He's a cheat, but at least he's an honest cheat. The same can't be said for that McGwire character and people love him now.Comment

What about divorced people? Adulterers? Brawlers? Gamblers? Which sins should we sneer at and which do we ignore? Because if you are showing your son your all-morals team, it'd have about 5 members in it.Comment

I don't celebrate sin and I certainly don't hold anyone else who makes money off of it or is a celebrity because of it up as a role model.
We all sin, I sin every day. We make mistakes. We do the wrong things. We make the wrong choices, usually for selfish reasons.
But I don't respect anyone who sins and then makes a living off of it.
Teaching your sons that everyone sins is one thing.
Teaching your sons that sinners who don't change are role models is another.Comment

I have a nice Canseco bat in my collection. It's not because I look up to him. I like items that tell the history of the game or are conversation pieces. Unfortunately, the story of baseball cannot be told without referencing him.Comment

And for me, it's not that I believe I am a better person than Canseco or anyone else on earth. I just don't understand the celebrities who are idolized, whether it is ball players, actors, or musicians who make their living by sin.
That is so sad that we teach our children that sin is okay and makes you lots of money.Comment
