Forum readers-Currently on Ebay is the folowing "1983 Pete Rose Phillies jersey:
Up for auction is Philadelphia Phillies jersey Wilson tag size 38. The jersey has the name Rose on the back but I doubt that this jersey was game used by Pete Rose. The letters Rose are a lighter red from the numbers. It looks like there was a name change. But everything else looks original. The jersey also comes with the 100th anniversary patch on the left sleeve. I took as many photos as possible so you can be the judge. The jersey does show alot of use around the collar. Make sure to enlarge all the pictures to see the details on the jersey. If you have any questions feel free to email.

Let's be extremely clear here-this is not a Rose gamer or for that matter, even a Philadelphia Phillies team issued/worn jersey. The problems are many:
1. The size is way off. Rose wore a size 44, not 38
2. The name on back. Real Phillies have vertical arch letters, sewn on a
plate.
3. Tagging. Real Phillies jerseys have the Wilson tag sewn in the outer
tail (not collar) with a year/set tag sewn below. The collar area
should have the players last name emboridered on a small plate.
FYI
