Moises Alou 2007 Signed Rawlings Game Used Bat

A six time All Star and two time Silver Slugger Award winner, Moises Alou comes from a family in which baseball is a way of life. His father Felipe, who managed Moises with the Expos from 1992 to 1996 and the Giants in 2005 and 2006, as well as uncles Matty and Jesús, and cousin Mel Rojas, all had long careers in the major leagues. As of 2006, he was one of six active major leaguers to hit 20 home runs in a season whose fathers had also hit 20 home runs in a MLB season. Alou's best season to date came in 2000 when he hit .355 with 30 home runs for the Houston Astros. He was also a member of the Florida Marlin's 1997 World Championship team, and this season put up a .340-plus batting average as the Mets battled for a division flag.
This uncracked, heavily used bat, manufactured by Rawlings in 2007, is the ultimate Moises Alou gamer. Measuring 34 inches and weighing approximately 33 ounces, this flame treated beauty shows hit marks, ball marks, and rack marks on the barrel, and worn pine tar application along the handle, extending to the Rawlings color ring. The knob has characteristic Rawlings stampings of model (456MA), batch code (005) and year code (07.) Additionally, Alou's name and the weight of this bat are written in pencil on the knob. Finally, Alou's uniform number, 18, is written on both the knob and the barrel end in black marker.
To add to the already high quality of this bat, Moises Alou has signed this bat in blue Sharpie on the sweet spot, adding the inscription "Game Used '07" to his signature. The autograph is clear and unhurried, and adds to the incredible display of this bat. You would be hard pressed to find a better Alou game used bat in the entire hobby.
This bat is sourced from Steiner Sports #08899, and bears the Steiner hologram. View Lot Detail page
