Destined for the Hall of Fame at the end of his illustrious career, Maddux was the first pitcher in Major League history to win the Cy Young Award for four consecutive years (1992-1995), during which he had a 75-29 record with a 1.98 ERA while allowing less than one runner per inning. Maddux is the only pitcher in MLB history to win 10 games in 20 consecutive seasons, and is tied for second place for the most 10-win seasons. A superb control pitcher, Maddux won more games during the 1990s than any other pitcher. 300 Wins, 3,000 Strikeouts, Gold Gloves – the awards keep mounting up for Maddux who is currently trying ti pitch the Padres into the 2007 post season.
