This blonde bat shows characteristic Pujols use patterns, including ball marks, hit marks, and light, if any, evidence of handle preparation. Pujols' uniform number 5 is displayed on both the knob and the cupped barrel end in characteristic fashion.The barrel label reads "34.0 PRO JL18 /Albert / PUJOLS", consistent with professional model gamers of the period.

To expand on the description of this bat, notably Pujols' use of Old hickory bats (Natural Finish) during the 2006 season, here are the specific documented instances as referenced in the description: 2006 Regular season -- 13% (82 of his ABs)..... 2006 All Star Game -- 100% of his 3 ABs ..... 2006 Post Season -- 21% (14 of his ABs.)

Has Jeff @ Bird Bats given his approval or looked at this Pujols bat? I have used Getty to look at the bats that Pujols was using when the Cardinals visited the Cubs during April, July and August and cannot find him using an Old Hickory during those series, but he could have still had one with him during the trips.... Didn't Jeff Jeff log most of his at bats for 2006? Jeff, if you could provid additional info. it would be helpful.

I have not seen the Pujols bat in person, but based on the photos, I have no reason to question its authenticity. As for when Albert may have used the bat, according to my records, during the Cards' visit to Chicago in April, he used Sam and LS; in July he used Sam and Old Hickory; and in August he used Old Hickory and LS.

Specifically, he used Old Hickory for 3 plate appearances in Chicago on July 28. He doubled, popped up to short and grounded out to short. He used Old Hickory again for 3 plate appearances on August 18. He grounded to short twice and singled.

If I collected Pujols equipment and bats, this appears to be a great bat to add to a collection! It came via the Cubs through Authentic Gamers, and has now been documneted as the brand used by Pujols during his AB's against the Cubs.

With all of the garbage Pujols bats floating around, this sounds like a true gem!
