Ramírez was signed as a 16 year old free agent by the Pittsburgh Pirates on November 7, 1994. On May 26, he made his major league debut with the Pirates in 1998 at the age of 19, and was the youngest player in baseball at the time. On September 16, 2004, Ramirez became the 14th player in Major League history to have two games with three home runs in a season when he hit three homers against the Cincinnati Reds at Great American Ball Park. His other three-home run game came against the Philadelphia Phillies on July 30 at Wrigley Field. He represents the future for the Cubs and some Cubs fans refer to Ramirez as "Rami" or "A-Ram".
This blue home alternate Chicago Cubs jersey was worn by Aramis Ramirez during the 2005 baseball season. Two-year style jersey, discontinued by the team in 2007. Tagged in the collar with a "16 48 05 S4" strip tag, indicative of Ramirez's number, size, the year, and the set number of this jersey. Also tagged on the tail with a Majestic tag and a size flag tag. Purchased from the Chicago Cubs at the 2006 Fan Convention. Exhibits light evidence of use, due to the fact that Ramirez was under a memorabilia contract at this time and was wearing new jerseys regularly.
