2004 Barry Zito Oakland Athletics Game Worn Alternate Jersey (Team LOA)

Zito was taken by the Seattle Mariners in the 59th round (1,586th overall) of the 1996 MLB Draft and in the third round (83rd overall) by the Texas Rangers in 1998, but did not sign with either team. In the 1999 draft, he was selected by the Oakland Athletics with the ninth pick of the first round, and signed for a $1.59 million bonus. Zito won the 2002 American League Cy Young Award. He is a durable pitcher, throwing 200 or more innings in each of his 6 full Major League seasons. Zito has never missed a scheduled start in his career, and led the American League in starts four times. He was named to the American League All-Star Team in 2002, 2003, and 2006.
This green alternate Oakland Athletics jersey was worn by Barry Zito during the 2004 baseball season. Tagged on the tail with a Majestic tag, a size 48 flag tag and a "set 1 2004" flag tag. Also tagged on the inside with pro-coded "0062" wash tag and a second size 48 flag tag. Velcro closure located between the second and third button behind the "Athletics" logo. This jersey exhibits good evidence of use, primarily in the form of wash wear (puckering on the numbers and lettering from extensive laundering). Comes with a letter from the Oakland Athletics. A great team-documented gamer from one of the anchors of the highly touted A's rotation of the early 2000's. View Lot Detail page
