Jorge Posada is considered one of the greatest Yankees catchers along with Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, and Thurman Munson. He is considered to be one of the best catchers in the Majors. He was drafted by the Yankees in the 24th round of the 1990 amateur draft, and made his major league debut in 1995. Posada, at age 36, is having a breakout year for the Yankees and is directing an often volatile and young pitching staff through some tough waters. He appears poised to take his lofty 2007 batting average into the Playoff and bring the World Series trophy back to New York.
