Nomar Garciparra Game Used Dodgers Batting Helmet (Steiner LOA)

Garciaparra has resurrected his career and currently plays third base for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He previously played first base for the Dodgers, and shortstop and third base for the Chicago Cubs, after several years as an All-Star shortstop for the Boston Red Sox. Garciaparra was part of the so-called "Holy Trinity" of shortstops that debuted in the mid '90s, which also included Alex Rodriguez (now a third baseman) and Derek Jeter, who were considered the best shortstops in baseball. Garciaparra is a six-time All-Star (1997, 1999, 2000, 2002, 2003, 2006). In five postseason series he has batted .323 with a slugging percentage of .625.
This Los Angeles Dodgers air-flow style batting helmet was worn by Nomar Garciparra during the 2007 baseball season. Large #5 decal on the back of the helmet, above the MLB logo decal. "LA" team decal on the front. This helmet exhibits heavy evidence of game use throughout, and has several distinct marks that have been photo matched to a Getty image. There are also other Getty images that show use characteristics that match up perfectly to this helmet (see photos). Size 7 ¼. Spectacular example. Documentation from Steiner Sports. The first two images demonstrate the consistency of the use patterns between the Steiner helmet and the helmet being worn by Nomar in the Getty images (note the scrapes all over the back side of the helmet); the third demonstrate an exact photo match of the helmet being offered in this auction (as evidenced by the distinct scrapes above the ear hole)...
