With NFL scouts a bit skeptical of his abilities as a drop-back passer (Moon was mostly a rollout passer at the University of Washington); a confident Warren Moon chose to sign with the Edmonton Eskimos of the CFL when he graduated college. In Edmonton, Moon led the Eskimos to an unprecedented five consecutive Grey Cup victories. In 1984, Warren Moon returned to the U.S. and signed with the Houston Oilers of the NFL. He set a new club record for passing yards his first year at Houston, a record he would break four times with the Oilers. Seventeen years later, the nine time Pro Bowler retired with nearly 50,000 yards passing and a place reserved for him the in the NFL Hall of Fame.
