    GUU Auctions Non-Paying Bidders

Given this was our first auction, and people may not have been completely familiar with our Terms and Conditions, we were admittedly lenient in terms of enforcing the 14 day from invoice date payment requirement. However, as stated in the GUU Auction Terms and Conditions, we consider non-payment of winning items a very serious matter.

At the time of this post, we are assuming all winning bidders intending to make payment have already done so. As stated in our post on December 9th, there were a total of 117 winning bidders in the auction with many bidders winning multiple items. At this point, we have received payment from all but 3 winning bidders from the auction (a 99% collection rate). Also, as per our post on December 9th, in fairness to other bidders, consignors and GUU, those who did not pay will be banned from future GUU auctions.

We also stated in our previous post that those who did not pay will have their names posted on the forum. I am posting the names here so that everyone participating in GUU Auctions will know: a) we run an honest auction, and b) those bidding in the auction do not need to worry about false bids or bidding against individuals who incur no recourse for non-payment. Here are the names of the non-paying bidders:

    1) Carl Bjornstal
    2) Kenn Bryant
    3) Shane Hughes

Please feel free to let me know if you have any questions.

    Sincerely,
    Chris Cavalier

    Chris,

Seems more than fair...how about sending the deadbeat bidders to collections??

The non-paying bidders should be immediately and permanately banned from not only future auctions, but the entire forum all together.

        Chris:
What items did the deadbeat bidders default on? Perhaps there are some Forum members who got outbid and this may be a second chance to pick up those items. Can you post the items and prices and see if a Forum member is interested in picking up the item? just a thought.

Listing the non-payer's user id's with their names also would be useful.

Thanks for the post. That option will be presented to the consignors of the items. If they would like to offer the items to the under-bidders we will contact the under-bidders to let them know.

I'll never understand why people bid on items and never pay.

                          Hello Everyone,

While I know a number of the posts on this thread are intended in jest, I think it is important to make sure everyone understands the purpose of this thread. The purpose of this thread is to let everyone know that we consider non-payment in our auctions a serious matter and one that we cannot tolerate in fairness to our bidders, consignors and GUU.

The thread is also consistent with our objectives of running an honest, transparent auction so people know they can trust our operations.

I just thought it was important to make sure everyone understood this point.

                          Sincerely,
                          Chris

                              Jim,
You may remember one of the deadbeat bidders. You went back and forth with him on one of the longest threads I've ever seen. Remember the $5 photo matching kid? That was a thread best forgotten. The reason I'm posting here is the deadbeat kid welched on an item I bid on and should have won. Hopefully we can all learn something good from both incidents.
