Drafted by the Cowboys in the first round of the 1961 draft out of TCU, Bob Lilly anchored the trenches for 14 seasons as evidenced by his 11 Pro Bowl selections. This representation is from one of his last seasons - in the early 1970's. Its mesh body is classic Southland of the era, and sports the hybrid durene sleeves with embedded striping. The font style of the numerals and NOB identifier are correct, as is the satin twill NOB plate.
As evidence to the jerseys round neck style the Cowboys used up until 1973 dates the jersey to the early 1970's. Lilly's #76 adorn's the front, back and sleeve's sewn on in blue tackle twill. The numbers and letters display tons of use with scrapes and hit marks everywhere. The neck label is Southland with a size "48" flag tag, here again the non-cloth version did not appear on gamers until the mid 1970s. This jersey is autographed on the verso, and shows nice wear with team repairs.View Lot Detail page
