Jacoby Ellsbury was called-up by the Boston Red Sox after an injury to Coco Crisp in 2007 to play center field. He was the 2007 American League Rookie of the Month and an important member of the 2007 World Championship Boston Red Sox team when he batted .438 with 4 doubles and a stolen base in the World Series. Ellsbury also had a solid 2008 season helping the Red Sox make it back to the postseason.

This home white Boston Red Sox jersey was worn by Jacoby Ellsbury during the 2008 season. It is tagged on the lower left tail with a Majestic tag and "46 44 08" swatch tag indicating the number, size and year. Inside, this jersey is tagged with a pro-coded "0062" wash tag. The jersey show nice use with some staining below the right armpit as well as on the front of the jersey next to the second button from the bottom and on the left side around the same level. This is in the MLB database as used on 8/18/2008. The Red Sox were in Baltimore the 18,19,& 20th . How could a home jersey be used on the road.???

Dates in the database reflect when it was authenticated/holo placed on the item. It doesn't always reflect use on that particular day.

Thank you for posting Kelly. I was trying to verify what you stated above before I made my post. I noticed that the MLB Authentication refers to the "Session Date" which I assume is when the hologram is actually placed on the item. In this case the session date was August 18, 2008. With that said, it is likely not referring to the day the jersey was worn. In fact, the Red Sox did use their road colors against Baltimore on 08/18/08 and the MLB Authentication refers to this item as a "#46 Ellsbury - White Jersey".

Is there any way to verify that, only reason I say that is that everything I own that is MLB authenicated, always pertains to that day in use. I was always told that MLB authenicators put the holgram on the "used Item" on the day of use, not any time after that. Maybe it would be a good idea to clarify for everyone.

Its in the database as team issued, not game used. That would seem to indicate they were just authenticated that day and labeled as team issued. That is what they did in 2007 and it in no way reflected that the authentication date meant that it was used in that day's game.
