Mariano Rivera is one of the greatest, and clutch, relief pitchers ever to grace the baseball diamond. Nicknamed "Mo," Rivera originally began his Major League career as a starting pitcher for the NY Yankees in 1995, but it was after he was moved to the bullpen that he found success. After a breakout year in 1996 as a set-up man, he was converted to closer in 1997, a role he has maintained for the Yankees ever since. Rivera has won the Rolaids Relief Man of the Year Award four times, has set countless Major League records and is currently second in all-time in career regular season saves with 482.
