Derek Jeter 2008 Louisville Slugger Professional Model Used Bat (Steiner LOA)

Derek Jeter, an eight-time American League All Star, won the American League Rookie of the Year Award in 1996, a Silver Slugger Award, and three Gold Glove Awards. In 2000, he became the only player to win both the All-Star Game MVP Award and the World Series MVP Award in the same year. In 2003 he was named the tenth Captain in New York Yankees' history. His .316 career batting average through the 2008 season ranks him near the top for lifetime batting average of all active baseball players. Individual accomplishments aside, Jeter earned his wings as a clutch postseason player, leading the Yankees to four World Series wins over the course of his illustrious career.

This bat was manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby and bears Derek Jeter's facsimile signature on the barrel, indicating that he had an endorsement contract with the company at the time. The bat has Louisville Slugger professional labeling consistent with 2008. The Model Number P72 appears on the barrel of this bat. The bat has a black finish. It measures 34 3/8 inches in length and currently weighs approximately 31 ounces. This bat exhibits numerous game use characteristics, including moderate pine tar / stick residue on the handle, hit marks and ball marks, and several rack marks (scratches). Wear is evidenced on both the knob and barrel end. There is a moderately displaced crack on the handle approximately 11 inches from the knob, extending approximately 5 inches in both directions. In a label-front display setting, the crack would appear visible on the handle at the bottom of the bat.

This bat is sourced from Yankees-Steiner Collectibles (includes Letter of Authenticity) and bears Steiner hologram #32011. View Lot Detail page
