Jorge Posada 2001-05 Louisville Slugger Professional Model Used Bat

Jorge Posada is considered one of the great New York Yankees catchers alongside of Bill Dickey, Yogi Berra, Elston Howard, and Thurman Munson. He is considered to be one of the best catchers in the Majors. He was drafted by the Yankees in the 24th round of the 1990 amateur draft, and made his major league debut in 1995. Following his career year in 2007 which saw a .338 batting average backed up with 20 home runs, injuries limited the five-time All Star to just 168 plate appearances in 2008. Posada was a member of the Yankee World Championship teams in 1996, 1998, 1999, and 2000.

This very slightly cracked bat was manufactured by Hillerich & Bradsby for Jorge Posada's personal professional use, and dates from the 2001-2005 major league seasons. This beauty measures 34 5/8 inches in length and weighs approximately 32 ounces. The handle has been heavily prepared for game use, and boasts Posada's unique and characteristic tape application extending approximately 7 inches from the knob. The tape has been heavily coated with pine tar, extending approximately 8 inches from the knob. Additional game preparation of tar and stick begins approximately 12 inches from the knob and extends approximately 7 inches into the center label. This Model P320M has been well-used by Posada, with rack marks, cleat marks, and both ball marks and hit marks present on the barrel. This bat has a very slight crack on the handle, approximately nine inches from the knob. The wood is very minimally displaced and does not affect the display value of this bat. This game used bat of one of the Yankees' most popular and productive players is a must for any Posada fan, Yankee collector, or World Championship team collector. View Lot Detail page
