Carlos Beltran 2006 NLCS Game 7 Game Worn Batting Helmet (MLB Hologram)

Carlos Beltrán made his major league debut in 1998, playing 14 games with the Kansas City Royals. In 1999, he won a job in spring training as the Royals starting center fielder and leadoff hitter. By mid-summer, he was displaying surprising power and moved to the #3 slot in the batting order, and he won the American League Rookie of the Year award. He is today considered by many to be in the top tier of stars in the game. He has been selected to the All Star team four times and in 2008 powered the Mets with his combination of power and speed by hitting over 25 home runs and stealing 25 bases.

This blue Mets helmet was worn by slugger Carlos Beltran during the 2006 NLDS, in game 7 against the St. Louis Cardinals. Beltran was wearing this helmet when he struck out in the ninth inning of game 7. This size 7 3/8 helmet was manufactured by Rawlings, and has Beltran's name on a rectangular decal on the brim and on the back of the helmet. This helmet exhibits light but evident game use on the inside and out. MLB hologram number BB234982 shows this helmet as "team issued" from NLDS Game 7, but that term is utilized for all items collected by MLB officials that they did not personally see the player remove immediately following the game.

Also accompanied by a LOA from Mets/Steiner, stating the helmet was game worn.View Lot Detail page

Wasn't Beltran batting left handed when he struck out? Isn't this a right-handed batting helmet? I'm confused...
