This bat was manufactured by the Hillerich & Bradsby Company. It has Ron Fairly's last name stamped on the barrel in script as he had an endorsement contract with the company at the time of manufacture. This bat has what is commonly referred to as 1985-68 era labeling. The Model Number R161 is stamped into the knob of this bat. The bat has a natural, or regular, finish. It measures 36 inches in length and currently weighs approximately 34 ounces. The number 6 is evident on the knob of this bat, written in vintage marker. Fairly wore uniform number 6 from 1961 through 1969 with the Los Angeles Dodgers. The number 34 is also written on the knob in pencil, referencing the weight of the bat when it was shipped from the factory (mark weights.) This bat is uncracked and exhibits traces of pine tar residue (with a heavy application beginning 12 inches from the knob and extending 8 inches into the center brand), rack marks, and hit and ball marks above the barrel.
This is an opportunity to obtain a bat used by former Major League outfielder Ron Fairly from his early playing days with the Los Angeles Dodgers. This is one tough bat to find for World championship Team collectors, as Fairly was a member of three Dodgers World Championship teams --- 1959, 1963, and 1965.View Lot Detail page
