Chin-Lung Hu is the fifth MLB player and the first MLB infielder from Taiwan. Hu was signed by the Dodgers on January 31, 2003. In 2005, he played the whole season at Vero Beach and hit .313 with 23 stolen bases. In 2006, he played for Taiwan in the 2006 World Baseball Classic. Hu played in the All-Star Futures Game in both 2006 & 2007. He won the MVP award for his performance in the 2007 game. Hu made his major league debut on September 1, 2007, against the San Diego Padres. In his second MLB at bat, Hu hit a solo home run on September 11, 2007, against the Padres, becoming the first position player born in Taiwan to hit a home run in MLB. On September 25, Hu hit a two-run homer and became the first Taiwanese-born player to hit two home runs. In 2008 he appeared in just 65 games with the Dodgers.

This bat exhibits numerous game use characteristics, including moderate stick residue extending 7 inches on the handle from the knob, hit marks and ball marks. Hu's uniform number 14 has been written in silver marker on the knob and in the cupped barrel end. Model, length, and weight notations also appear on the knob. This bat has two handle cracks approximately 9 inches from the knob. The wood is not displaced, but is visible against the black finish.
