Dave Kingman 1976 All-Star Game, Autographed Black Bat

David Kingman, nicknamed "Kong" and "Sky King", had a great career with the seven teams he played with, including the Mets and Yankees. In his 16-season career, Dave Kingman batted .236, with 442 home runs, 1210 runs batted in, 901 runs scored, 1575 hits, 240 doubles, 25 triples and 85 stolen bases in 1941 games played. He also struck out 1,816 times, then the 4th-highest total in history. He was named to the National League All-Star team three times (1976-1979-1980). He captured two home run titles, in 1979 and 1982, displaying the power that caused Mets broadcaster (and Hall of Famer) Ralph Kiner to remark, "Kingman can hit them out of any park, including Yellowstone."

This bat is a full-size 35-inch Hillerich & Bradsby Commemorative Black Bat given to players who were selected to participate in the 1976 Major League All Star Game played on 7/13/76 in Philadelphia. This bat is from the personal collection of Dave Kingman and is accompanied by a signed Letter of Authenticity from Dave. This was Kingman's first appearance in an All Star Game, which resulted in a 7 – 2 National League victory. This bat has the gold facsimile signatures (H & B contract players) and the block letter names (non-H & B contract players) of the players and coaching staff of the National League team. Included on the bat are the names of 32 National Leaguers, including such players as Bench, Morgan, Perez, Luzinski, Schmidt, and Rose. Of special interest is Robin Roberts, who appears on the bat as the honorary National League Captain.

In addition to the facsimile signatures, Dave Kingman has signed this bat in silver Sharpie just below the centerbrand and the 1976 Bi-centennial logo on the sweet spot. The signature is approximately four inches in length and is graded a solid "10 out of 10."
