For Michael Jordan's final regular-season home game on April 14, 2003, the Wizards organized a special promotion to commemorate that historic evening. Twenty-three balls, numbered one through twenty-three, were signed by the Washington Wizards team to be given away. Prior to the game, 23 fans were chosen to receive a Washington Wizards team-signed ball (in honor of Jordan's uniform number). This particular ball might be considered the most significant by some, as it is hand numbered "23/23."
The Spalding basketball features three white signature panels and has been signed in black Sharpie by the following members of the 2003 Washington Wizards: Michael Jordan, Kwame Brown, Juan Dixon, Brendan Haywood, Larry Hughes, Jared Jefferies, Christian Laettner, Tyronn Lue, Charles Oakley, Byron Russell, Jerry Stackhouse, Etan Thomas, and Jahidi White. All of the signatures have been boldly penned and grade "9/10." The ball is in Mint condition. Accompanying the ball is a signed LOA from the team's community relations department, as well as a special commemorative ticket from the evening, and a Wizards towel. This is a rare opportunity to acquire a Jordan signature with impeccable provenance, and also one of the last balls ever signed by Jordan during his career.
