A perennial All-Star in the 1980's and 1990's, Wade Boggs captured eight Silver Slugger Awards and led the American League in batting average five times. Elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2005, Boggs' collected 3,010 hits while earning a career average of .328. While playing for the New York Yankees, Boggs also won two Gold Glove Awards and his first World Championship.
This late 1980's Boston Red Sox helmet was manufactured by the American Baseball Cap Company, and was worn by Wade Boggs during the peak of his career. There is a size 7 3/8 label inside of the dome of the helmet. There is a large white "26" decal affixed to the back of the helmet, and the number 26 is also hand-written on the inside of the helmet (on the padding at the top of the dome). This helmet exhibits extensive evidence of game use and was consigned by Rob Steinmetz.View Lot Detail page
