I see that Kingman was with Phoenix in '87, and the '88 helmet that I have was also purchased in '89 from Sports Warehouse. They may have even gone to SW in the same batch.

I do have one Firebirds item that is unique, I must say. Phineas T. Firebird, the mascot, is on a mannequin in one corner of the master bedroom of my house, surrounded by Firebirds bats, pennants, and other memorabilia. The guy who wore the costume during the team's last three or four years put it up for auction a few years ago, and I couldn't resist.

I had the opportunnity to buy the mascot of a local non-affiliated club in O'Fallon. The thing stunk so bad, I was certain that no amount of cleaning would ever have made it worth keeping in the same place that I eat and sleep...

      I passed.

If you have yours in your bedroom, I would imagine that you have Febreezed it pretty good.

I actually didn't have to, as the previous owner seems to have kept it pretty cleaned and aired out. I had to get pretty upclose and personal with old Phineas in the course of getting him onto the mannequin, and I detected no (you had to see this one coming) fowl odors whatever.
