Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
Damn, are those all g/u jerseys?
I think the one item I couldn't let go would be my 2004 Ortiz World Series bat. A close second is Pedro Martinez's rookie Dodger jersey & pants.Comment

Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
I have been a Red Sox fan since 1967, and have lived through the several world series that they lost in 7 games: 1967, 1975, and 1986. I have a game used 2004 David Ortiz regular-season bat from the year of their first series win since 1918 (the year my father was born and he has seen both the 2004 and the 2007 wins). This bat is not nearly as good as Oil Can Dan's Ortiz 2004 world series bat, but it is my favorite bat.Comment

I have 2 items:
1. A baseball that A-Rod hit for a home run in the minor leagues. The ball is signed by A-Rod, with the inscription "1994."
2. A game used soccer ball from a 2007 LA Galaxy game that was kicked for a goal by David Beckham (the only soccer item in my collection).Comment

Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
I don't know about "NEVER" but, these items would be hard to sell and are about as close to "NEVER" more than any other items in my collection.
-The first item is a Mike Jarmoluk Eagles Alumni ring. It was Mike's personal ring that was awarded to him by the Eagles. 10K gold with a real diamond. The eagle is 14K. Mike was a member of the Eagles 1949 Championship team.
-The 2nd item is a Duke football that came from the Eagles ticket office on Market Street back around 1964. There was a plaque beneath the football that said, "Gameball - 1960 Championship Game". I got the football in 1964 and have had it all these years. On the day I got the football, I can still remember walking over the Franklin Field and throwing it around with my brother.

Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
Probably this for right now, I am a big "Nellie" fan, I would say I'd move it if I found a player I liked even more. That season was a magical one here in Seattle, setting an AL record for wins, the All-Star game being played here which I was at and it also has the 9/11 Memorial flag patch on the back. This one looks like it was used most (if not all) of the season. I know the complete history of hands it's passed through, I'm the 3rd owner. Jeff has seen it and confirmed it was his and he wore it that year.
Always looking for Seattle Mariners & Anything of Felix Hernandez or Richie Sexson.

Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
I have a game used Mickey Mantle bat from the 1953 season that I never plan on selling. He only ordered 6 bats of this model K55, it's 35 inch and 33 oz. I also have a game used bat of Lloyd Waner from the time period of 1921-1931, that I plan on keeping for a long time. There are only a couple of these bats around.
Jamie
Is there a story about your Waner bat and why you're attached to it?

Cosairs22,
The reason I like the Waner bat so much, there is only a handful know to exist. It's a great looking bat of a HOF player and it's uncracked with lots of game use. I know many bat collectors out there would kill to have this bat in their collections.
Thanks,
Jamie

I don't think I'd really kill anyone for a Lloyd Waner bat, but I will admit that I'd give a lot to get one. Partly because my father was a big Paul Waner fan, my side written Paul Waner is one of the bats that I will never get rid of. MarkComment

Re: What's that one piece you'll never get rid of?
My Hanley Ramirez game used jersey. I havent seen from such a star player with so much wear. Plus he signed and inscribed it "Game used 08". You can even see the mota stick marks on his right sleeve from waving the bat during his at bats.
My next piece isnt game used and i know the title says one piece but i will die with this picture by my side. Its UDA and /23
