I picked up an AFL San Diego Chargers Jersey with quite a bit of Chargers history. This was worn by Orlando Ferrante during the 1961 season. This is from their 1st season in San Diego having just moved from LA after one season. The Jersey was worn for all season home games, winning their 1st western division in SD and was also worn in the AFL Championship Game that was played in San Diego's Balboa Stadium at the end of the season. This was the first AFL/NFL Football Championship ever played in SD. As you can see it was incredibly preserved for 53 years. It was stored in total darkness which helped it retain the rich original luster of the Gold and Blue team colors with little to no fading after all these years.

Very cool Michael - I actually picked up the white 2012 International series Branch in the Hunt Auction (the twin brother of yours).

Hard to pass them up at that price point, given his history with the Pats.

Chris I just typically do a google search for images using keywords related to the time or game that I am looking for and search by "large" size files.

Deion Branch 2012 game used jersey (BCA, PSA/DNA cert)
I was fortunate to pick this up in the Hunt Super Bowl Auction. Jersey was last worn by the Super Bowl 39 MVP on 10/14/2012 against the Seahawks. The jersey is unwashed. Some remnant blue field paint is on the back of the jersey. Branch had a catch and a solo tackle (his 24th career and last tackle, on Richard Sherman) in the game. The jersey has elastic cuffed sleeves and an elastic waistband.

I saw the Whitner available in auction and was debating on bidding. I really really really hope he is back. With the talk of Cully going to safety and Whitner's Twitter/Instagram its not looking as likely as I thought at the end of the season

I don't think it's from cutting off the tape. I have seen the holes on some Golden Tate cleats that I had as well. I believe that it is to reduce pressure on some of the toes, but cannot say for sure. I myself have never done that to any of my own cleats but I have seen it done on other Pats players as well like Ty Law and Tom Brady.

Never knew that, thanks for the info! I always thought a lot of the cuts on cleats were from quickly removing tape.

Nice looking cleats, are the cuts in the toes from when they were cutting off the tape or something else?

I don't think it's from cutting off the tape. I have seen the holes on some Golden Tate cleats that I had as well.
