If you haven't had the chance to read it yet, I highly recommend you take a few moments to read Jim Caravello's most recent blog entitled "Louisville Slugger Vintage Bats - Wood Grain and Finishes". It is really well written and, given grains and finishes are variables that are sometimes noted on the Louisville Slugger factory records, it is an absolute must read for anyone seriously thinking of collecting bats.
