Re: Your rarest game used item?

My 1965 Jets jersey worn by David Huarte. An interesting issue on this jersey is, I sent it to a major auction house and their authenticator refused the jersey.

Here is the email I received from the auction house. Jim,The jersey has been refused by our authenticators. The reason for refusal; the Jets did not use Rawlings during the era that he was there. I will have the jersey sent back as soon as possible.Sorry for the bad news.
    Thanks,

That is interesting because Brad Moore had three (3) Jets jerseys. All three jerseys were worn by common players, all played during the same period as Huarte and all three jerseys were made by Rawlings.

    Oh well,

    Jim

I suppose my rarest item is my Ted Simmons first baseman's mitt from the early 80's. I consider any fielder's gloves pretty rare anyway (especially if they are 25+ years old), but this is a little more rare since Simmons only played about 65 games at first base from the time the glove was made and the time he gave it to the team electrician after the 1985 season. Likely not the world's most valuable piece, but priceless for me.

for me it would be the last pitch thrown by a visiting player at tiger stadium (jeff montgomery to kimera bartee) or carlos guillens walk off homer ball last august to end the latest game in AL history (after 3 am!!).

Interesting that he wore an '06 jersey during that game.

Yes, It is interesting tagging but the jersey comes with a mlb hologram and their data base states it was worn in the 4th inning.
