You are dead on. My Dad worked for McDonnell - Douglas at PAX. I have very fond memories of crab cakes and marsh walking by the Chesapeake Bay. It was a big part of my childhood.

I was never a fan of the Orioles though. In those days, it was the Braves all the way. Dale Murphy was my hero!

Yep, crab cakes and the Chesapeake and Ocean City! My son played in a 13 year old baseball tournament last year in Lexington Park and it has certainly seen its share of real estate building! It still has its rural roots with a few shopping centers added and I think back when you lived in PAX there was 1 small shopping area right before the PAX River entrance.

I was an Orioles and Senators fan growing up, but Peter Angelos made it easy to switch allegiances when the Nationals came to town.

You are lucky in St. Louis as you have a great fan base that really understands the game with a team set to compete.

When I lived in Lexington Park, 1978-1983 - it was a GHETTO. At the end of my street (which was off of Great Mills Rd.) there was a strip joint.
I was a minority at my elementary school - Carver Elementary.

I still talk to some friends from that area, and they tell me the same thing you just did....it has really been built up. I plan on going back to visit eventually, so I will get a hold of you when that happens.

I did an early season Sunday "meet & greet" for GUF members that I knew were in the area and it was a lot of fun so I definitely want to do it again.

Yes, I checked the schedule and the Rockies are in town. We are getting tickets from Bob Carpenter and I'm hoping the seats are good and I'm also anxious to walk around the stadium beforehand. Is there anything particular that I shouldn't miss in case I don't have time to see it all?

There are so many amazing things to see in these new ballparks. Nationals Park I think starts with the walk into centerfield where the local eateries are. Centerfield also has the Red Loft bar and the newly opened "beer garden". If you have teenage kids or younger, the playground and video gameroom is very cool.

There are 3 private clubs that all have some great stuff, the Lexus President's Club, Diamond Club, and Stars & Stripes Club.

President's Club has views into the indoor batting cages that the players call the "fish bowl" as well as glass walls and speakers to take in the pre-game and post-game news conferences.

Diamond Club as amazing views of the field and some great memorabilia.

The Stars & Stripes bar has walls of vintage Washington baseball card reproductions in different sizes and shapes.

Those in the Upper Deck get the best views of Washington DC and the Capital and Washington Monument.

The newly named Shirley Povich Media Center houses Povich's own sports memorabilia on the Press level which includes his own scorecards of World Series including Don Larsen's no hitter!

They will be adding sculptures and artwork throughout the stadium in years to come.

I am sure I missed some other highlights and maybe someone else can add some notes.
